What
to Bring:
Paddlers must supply
their own canoe or kayak ( rental is available ), paddles, a
Coast Guard approved ( not inflatable ) Life Vest, a
safety whistle, an extra paddle and a bailer or sponge. Small
plastic kayaks, racing canoes and tandem canoes less than 16
feet long are NOT recommended. A lightweight canoe or kayak
is recommended for this trip. Solo canoeists will find this
trip to be the ultimate test of endurance.
Other items to bring
along are a tent and sleeping gear, a larger cooler to leave
on the truck, a water jug to fill each day, rain gear, suntan
lotion, sunglasses, insect repellent, a small cooler for lunch
and liquids, a folding camp chair for evening relaxation, and
a crazy hat for "crazy hat" day.
No canoe motors are
permitted on any of the participating craft, and no pets are
permitted on the land or the water.
